Congratulations

Hello everyone
By now, everyone has at least one posting on your own blog. Many of you have enhanced your blog by adding videos and music. Well done!

Recommended Blogs:
Personal reflections for video - Peiji and Chiayu
Tips to improve English - Shaowen

Task for today:
1) Complete your 3 postings.
Search the Internet for words to help you write.
Run a spell check.

2) Write comments on at least two of your friends' blog.
Look at the links on my blog. Write comments for students whose name is one above yours and one below yours.

How to write comments
Content: state if you agree or disagree and give reasons.
Language: highlight some areas for improvement.
Give constructive, helpful and useful comments. Not just empty words of praises.

3) Read the blogs created by Mr Michael Lee's students

Hi guys and gals!

Today, I want to finish and consolidate some of the work we have done these two days.

Firstly, make sure you have published a post regarding your own learning style and progress in English. Some of you know what does not work for you but does not know what works. Well, keep looking and you may find the right style that suits you.

Secondly, make sure that you have embedded the clip from
http://www.cultureunplugged.com/play/1081/Chicken-a#videoDetail in your blog.
Go to your friends' blog to see what are their questions and try to answer them.

Thirdly, go to
http://www.sleepingmike.blogspot.com/ (Mr Lee's blog) and read his post on 27th April. View the video and published a post about the current flu epidemic. (It looks soon to be a pandemic so better get your thermometers ready!)
If you can, create a link tab at the side to link to all your classmates' blogs (similar to what I have on my blog).

Lastly, I want all of you to visit each other's blogs and give comments to your friends. It can be to correct their language or grammar, to offer comments on their reflections, to say that you disagree or agree with them, or simply to just drop them an encouraging message to them.PLEASE read this blog religiously for more updates on activities to come.

REFRAIN from giving NEGATIVE comments. Be encouraging and supportive.

From your EL teacher

touching clip

What is your initial reaction after watching the clip?

Think of three questions you have about the clip.

Try to provide some answers to your questions.

Tell us your problems in learning English.

What works for you and what does not?

How much have you learned this year?

Are you happy with your progress?

how do i get my students to upload podcast?

wonder if my current students will be interested in uploading podcasts. But, they have to first create an email account, or use the msn account, then create a blog, then learn to download podcast, listen to the podcast and finally upload it. Seems very complicated and tedious.

Will all these eventually lead them to learning to speak and read better?

That's the biggest question for me now.
